  • Create Your Own Ezine Traffic Machine

    Posted March 1st, 2008 by
    Categories: advertising solution

How would you like to reach millions of people with your products and service for free?

That is exactly what occurs when you start writing articles and submitting them to hundreds of ezines. Currently there are tens of thousands of ezine publishers online and almost all of them have one thing in common. They are all looking for good content to publish in their newsletter.

If you have good content (not a sales letter cloaked as an article), then you can be their savior. You can give them exactly what they need. Then, they will give you what you need in exchange. They will give you exposure for your business.

Every article comes with a resource box attached at the end of it. While your article should not be an effort to promote your business, your 4 to 6 line resource box should be an outright ad for you and your business. You are free to advertise your website, your products, your services, or any affiliate program you are a member of.

You may say to me that you are not a writer. Well, that just doesn’t matter. What do you know about your industry? I am sure there is something you know. The writing style online is not that of English professors. The best explanation of what is popular in the online world would be to define it as a “down home” style of writing.

Since the technology we are all using seems so impersonal, your readers are seeking someone who is real. You can write in a conventional tone. Below is a quick step by step system to writing your first article.

    1. Decide on a topic

You want to choose a hot online topic. What are people talking about on the news, in discussion boards, and in ezines that you are receiving? Look at the articles from some of the magazines in your industry to gauge where people’s interest is at. You want to make sure that your article is covering a subject people are excited about.

    2. Create a Title

The title will make or break your article. A title for an article is just as important as a headline for an ad. If your title doesn’t grab people’s attention they will never read the rest of the article. If they don’t read the article, they won’t see your resource box. Write a minimum of 10 - 20 titles and then let your family or friends pick the most interesting one to use in your article.

    3. Write 3 - 5 Major Points

The key to making your writing easy is dividing up the content. Through creating these main points you can also establish a flow to the article. Using a step by step system will also help you stay organized in your mind.

    4. Decide on the number of words, probably around 300 - 500 for ezine articles

Most ezines publish shorter articles than you what you see in magazines. The best number to plan for is to create articles that are around 300 - 500 words in length. Although some ezines may ask for a little bit longer articles.

    5. Divide up the number of words and create each section invdidually

If you have 5 points, each one only gets 100 words. Once you add on a short introduction and a short conclusion, then you are at about 80 words per section. If you have 3 points, then each section will have around 150 words plus an introduction and conclusion. It is easier to get started when you think of it like this. You don’t have to write 500 words. You need to write 150 words.

    6. Create Your Resource Box

Give your contact info such as your name, email address, and web site. Then, give one or two benefit phrases, headlines you could say, along with web site links. You will receive your absolute best results if the benefit phrases coincide with the article you have just written.

    7. Edit it

Take a step back after you have written and prepared your article. Sleep on it. Come back to your article the next day and edit it. Re-phrase sections that you can make better. Do a spell check. It is amazing what a short rest will do for the creative process.

    8. Email it to ezine publishers with a short covering letter.

Find a large section of ezine publishers with their name and contact emails. Send it to them with a short personalized cover paragraph at the top. Personalization is a major key since most ezine publishers receive hundreds of these emails every day. You need to make your emails stand out from the crowd.

Thanks for reading my article. Please feel free to rate it at the bottom of this page.

Ezine As A Viral Marketing Tool

    Posted May 1st, 2007 by
    Categories: advertising solution

A very popular method of marketing ezines and newsletters is by
making them viral. If your newsletter contains information of
value, such as tips, hints, news or tutorials, you’ll find that
subscribers will forward it on to others.

Ezine Advertising is one of the most powerful ways to market and
promote your other products and or services. There are literally
thousands of electronic newsletters on the Internet with millions
of people who subscribe to them. Placing ads in online newsletters
is an inexpensive way to reach your target market quickly –
especially when you compare it with other forms of advertising.

In 2002, ezine publishing took a quantum leap, as its status
evolved from “amateur’s hobby” into becoming the most powerful
marketing tool for business online. Email newsletters have come of
age, and increasingly, more ezines will take this route, as
subscribers prefer them to drab, lack-luster text-only ezines. In
the coming year we’ll see more ezines published.

There are tens of thousands of Ezines being published every month,
with a collective audience of millions. And the editors of most of
those Ezines are all looking for quality content for their
    newsletters.

If you master this technique of making the Ezine viral you can get
your name and your website URL in front of 100,000 or even a
    million readers.

Tips for making the ezine viral

Pick a topic that you know something about and then go to the
Search Engines and find as many websites as you can that deal with
    that subject.

As well as collecting information for your article, make a note of
any URLs that offer free resources dealing with the topic of your
article. Include those URLs in your article.

You should choose a topic very carefully. Once the topic is
selected, doing enough research on the subject is vital. Organize
the material and write in an interesting style. Make sure that you
    provide links to free resources.

The content in your Ezine should not be pure sales copy. There has
to be valuable and genuine information. Promotion of your product
or service should be subtle. Viral marketing using Ezine is
different than running an E Mail marketing campaign that blasts
millions of mail messages to unsuspecting readers.

At the end of your article, attach a 5 or 6-line ‘Resource Box’
that includes your website URL and/or your email address.

When you have finished your article, do NOT send it off straight
away. Let it lie fallow for 2 or 3 days and then come back and read
it again. You’ll be amazed at the improvements you can make. Those
final improvements are what make the difference between an article
that gets published and one that doesn’t.

    Word Of Mouth

“Word of mouth” advertising can be very effective. Besides, it is
completely free. The Internet takes this ancient form of “buzz”
and promotion and amplifies it with a global network of people
connected digitally. “Word of mouth” now has an Internet version
called “word of mouse” (computer mouse). With greatly increased
speeds, people refer things to their friends and families spreading
the word through the Internet and to the far-reaching corners of
the world. This can be done for your ezines as well.

Many smart marketers and publicity people have learned to harness
the power of viral publicity with Internet “Tell-A-Friend”
    promotional techniques and tools.

Providing incentives as part of the “Tell-A-Friend” technique
    ensures higher success rate.
For instance, the website www.wz.com conducted a giveaway contest
where they gave away 4 Sony PS2’s before Christmas as a website
promotion. They also gave people who had entered the Giveaway the
opportunity to get additional entries and additional chances to win
by telling a few of their friends on the “Thank You” page.

On the “Thank You” page, every giveaway entrant received the
following message: “Tell your friends about WZ.com, and get an
additional entry for each friend you email.” In return for the
favor, they received an additional chance to win for every friend
they refer. This simple addition increased Tell-a-Friend results by
    96 times.

So how do you use this technique to leverage and increase your
subscription rate, and “word of mouse” publicity? It’s simple, just
“Tell-A-Friend” or “Tell-A-Friend about everything”! You can add
Viral “Tell-A-Friend” forms to all of your web pages just below the
subscription offer. This technique is simple and very effective.

Offer your ezines to all your customers, friends, relatives, and
colleagues. Let them spread the word. Offer your ezine as a
promotional tool to your affiliates if you have an affiliate
program. These can drastically improve the subscriptions to your
    ezine.

Two kinds of Advertising for a Marketing Strategy

    Posted March 1st, 2007 by
    Categories: advertising solution

Advertising is the lifeblood of any business. If you do not
learn how to advertise your products and services both
efficiently and effectively, you won’t be in business long.
While the Internet has lessened or eliminated many of the
costs normally associated with starting and running a small
business, and it’s now easier than ever, you’ll never
realize significant profits if you don’t grow your business
    through effective marketing.

There are really just two kinds of advertising - that which
you pay for and that which you get for free. And both
should have their place in your overall marketing strategy.
The problem arises when one does not understand how or when
    to use each.

Everywhere we look it seems that someone is claiming you
can get rich online by taking advantage of the free
    advertising the Internet offers.

While it’s a true statement, the misleading part is that
it’s almost always followed by something like, “We’ll give
you a list of over 984324874984 places to advertise for
free!” They normally go on to explain how anyone can get
rich on the Internet because all of the advertising is
free, and if you just send them $29.95 … well you know
    how it goes.

Unfortunately, as anyone who has tried posting zillions of
free ads on the Internet will tell you it just doesn’t work
that way. What you really need to know about posting free
ads online is that for the most part it’s a waste of time -
unless you’re targeting other marketers - because an
overwhelming majority of people who visit free ad sites are
other online marketers like you who are trying to promote
    their own business.

Effective “free advertisingstrategies do exist, but they
aren’t what the average online marketer thinks of when
    hearing this often hyped-up phrase.

Are you ready for the one concept that separates the men
from the boys, so to speak, online? Here it is:

Free advertising is the laziest way to promote your site!

You don’t really think that Yahoo became the most popular
web site on the Internet, getting millions of visitors per
day, by using free advertising strategies do you? Heck no.
Among other things, they spend millions of dollars per year
on things like buying advertising on other big sites and
advertising on both radio and television.

Now before you say you don’t have millions per year to
spend on advertising, allow me to show you how you can
apply these concepts to your business on a smaller scale.
The good news is that if you use the right approach you can
start with a few dollars. It doesn’t really matter what
you’re marketing, but let’s assume that you sell artwork at
your web site. How could you utilize paid advertising
    profitably?

Now before I scare you off with the thought of having to
spend lots and lots of money on advertising, there’s
something that you need to realize. And it’s a basic
concept you should be able to immediately agree with:

If you spend $50 on advertising and it generates more than
$50 in net profits, that’s a good investment.

Simple right? Well, through the use of proper testing and a
“scientific” approach to advertising, there’s no reason you
can’t turn your original $50 ad into millions of dollars in
profits. It’s just a matter of developing a system that
creates a profit, and then reinvesting your initial profits
back into your business in order to further expand your
    advertising.

Remember the artwork? Assume that through proper tracking
of your website you’re able to determine that 1 out of
every 100 visitors to your site buys artwork. Let’s also
assume that on the sale of every artwork you make a $50
profit. Do you see that any ad you buy which delivers more
than 100 visitors to your site per $50 spent is a
    profitable investment?

Promoting a site should be approached with this type of a
scientific or mathematical attitude. Any advertising you do
is either profitable or not, and you need to know which it
is so you don’t waste time and money.

Here’s a somewhat simplistic strategy that you could use to
    get started:

Use a combination of free or low-cost strategies to promote
your web site, generating initial traffic which will serve
as a starting point. Through proper tracking of your site,
determine the exact “value” of a visitor in terms of
dollars and sense. This is absolutely critical. Utilize
paid advertising that proves to be profitable according to
step 2, based on the value of a visitor and the number of
visitors generated. Through ongoing testing, tracking, and
tweaking, try to increase the value of a web site visitor
as well as response to your advertising. Repeat steps 2-4
as necessary - or forever. The power of this scientific or
mathematical approach to web site promotion is that once
you have completed the steps you will have an almost
automated advertising campaign that can literally send you
all the traffic you need. Rather than spending hours and
hours each day promoting your site, you simply buy more
    advertising.

The bottom line is that there are only 24 hours in a day
and there’s only so much you can do during that time. Free
advertising strategies can be effective, but normally,
anything that’s “free” is going to “cost” you time.

On the other hand, if you could spend $1,000 a day on
advertising to make $1,000 a day in profits — without
spending hours doing it — why wouldn’t you just do that?
It’s not hard at all. Consider Overture.com for example,
where you can buy click-thrus for as little as 1-25 cents.

That fits the formula quite nicely. Overture alone won’t
send you enough traffic to make you rich, but it’s a good
example of effectively promoting your site without spending
much time doing it. There are lots of others.

Give this 2-step scientific approach a try. If you find you
just can’t seem to make the formula work, there can only be
a few reasons for it - either you’re not advertising in the
right places, your web site isn’t doing its job, your
profit margins are too low, or your product or service
itself is the problem. Figure out which it is and you can’t
    fail.
