Drink Coasters & Place Mats - Real Grass Roots Marketing

    Saturday, September 1st, 2007

A great way to get your name around town is to ask a few bar and restaurant owners if they would use your placemats or drink coasters if you supplied them for free.

Free placemats and coasters are not a tough sell and think about the number of people that would read your placemat or notice a well designed coaster, if you were to make a deal with a restaurant or two.

For the placemat, just an advertisement could be unappealing to the restaurant owner. So, do a list of fun local facts or some clean jokes and make yourself the sponsor.

For coasters, some great artwork is all that’s needed. It can usually be a blatant ad as long as it looks good.

Paper placemats and coasters are inexpensive and you will usually be able to get quite a large quantity produced without a large outlay of cash. You can spend a few afternoons meeting with restaurant and bar owners and your campaign is on it’s way.

With the quantity of placemats and/or coasters you can produce inexpensively, this campaign should have a life of six months to a year or more. It’s a great return on investment for your advertising dollar and a great way to get your name around town.

    Advertising in Newsletters

    Saturday, September 1st, 2007

In this article we will discuss advertising in other companies’ newsletters and how it can be as equally beneficial.

By advertising in other newsletters, you can reach an
audience which is highly targeted and cost effective.
Moreover, you can never be accused of spamming as all the
recipients have subscribed to the newsletter.

There are so many newsletters out there covering so many different topics that it’s easy to find highly targeted ones to advertise in. So if you’ve matched the newsletter to the product you’re selling, you’ve reached your target audience.

Almost all newsletters are archived, thousands of people
read these archives, and your ad will be seen by these
people at no extra cost. This can bring in exposure and
extra sales on a long term basis.

Newsletter publishers may have already developed a trust between
themselves and their readers. Just by placing your ad in the
newsletter, it’s more likely to be read because it appears
in a publication they like and trust.

Newsletter advertising is not only effective, it’s cheap as
well. A 5 line ad in a newsletter that goes to 3000 people
will cost you between $5 and $25 per issue. With so little
risk involved, this is definitely worth it.

Just as you can sell advertising, you can also buy
advertising in newsletters. You can use those ads to promote
your business or to invite people who read newsletters to
    read your own.

Again, you have to pick your partners carefully. There’s no
point just picking a newsletter with the cheapest rates; you
want to make sure you choose an outlet that appeals to the
same buyers as you. You also need to think about where your
ad is going to be placed.

In general, the higher the position the better. And the more the merrier too. Don’t expect a huge response from a single ad. It’s always best to think of advertising in terms of a campaign.

You’ll get a better dealand better resultsif you reserve an advertising position for four or five issues than if you buy them one at a time.I hope this brief introduction will get you thinking about the possibilities!

Internet Marketing Is Not Like Off-Line Marketing

    Saturday, September 1st, 2007

This is a question many of you probably ask yourself several times a day. The question, “what if”, often comes to mind in regards to internet marketing. What if it does not work? What if I am just wasting my money? What if I can’t do this? What if it all fails? The what if’s are just to many to mention.

Internet marketing can be an extremely tricky matter and a lot of money can be wasted if not done right or if your marketing does not reach its target. In order for you not to waste your time or money, you need to find where to market yourself, company or product in order to reach your specific group of people. People who would be interested in what you have to offer.

Let us say your site offers baby stuff. You would not want to waste your time or money to promote someplace where the visitors are mainly interested in cars. Would you? Of course not, you would seek out a place where people go to look for baby content only. This would be the logical thing to do, right?

Unfortunately these places are far and few between because most directories out there are general, which means that subjects regarding any topic can be posted there. These places might not necessarily be a total waste, you might be lucky and some people will actually see your post and visit your site.

What if there was something better out there that would be worth your while? Wouldn’t you want to take advantage of it? Surely you would. When it comes to saving money and time, anything should be worth your while. Another plus with posting on a content site would be that you would get much more exposure and reach your targeted group.

Like mentioned earlier, these places can be a little harder to find but once you have tried it and are able to see what posting on a niche content site can do for you, you will be very excited. The good thing about such a site is that they are dedicated to one specific niche.

Therefore, if you find a baby content site to post your articles on, you are guaranteed that everyone visiting that site are looking for content regarding babies. If the content on your site is good you can expect much more traffic to your site from having posted on such a site compared to on a general directory site.

Take the time to do some research and you will find the place for you to do your promotion. At the same time you will find that a lot of your what ifs will be answered.
