The World Cup - Of Advertising

    Sunday, April 1st, 2007

Click on the Google Image and you get the search results for “2006 World Football.”

I admire those images. Like at the time of the Olympic Games, everyday another picture showing the center of the Games; one day water polo, athletics, hockey, short track … “Although,” — you might think — “we are a virtual company, when there are games, we are there too; right by your side.” Google was right there. And now again, The World Cup. Again the image shows: ” we are with you.”

But then the opening game itself. Germany (4) - Costa Rica (2). You may have seen it. And you may have seen the advertisements as well. If you have observed the advertisements you recall one company that had a particular presence.

Amongst the “normal” advertisers we found:

    • Philips, Braun, McDonald’s, Coca Cola, Avaya, Continental, Toshiba, FIFA WorldCup itself, Fujifilm, Hyundai, Adidas, Mastercard, T-Com, and maybe I’ve missed one (or two…).

Now which company was also present amongst those earthly giants?
The only Virtual Company that was present, was the very - YAHOO!
For about two hours, an audience of millions of people turned their back to their PC’s and notebooks and switched on the television. Prime time advertisement. And Yahoo was there, playing the marketing game. In the lead.

Despite Googles’ beautiful picture, I think this marketing move was won by its’ opponent. First half: Google (0) - Yahoo (1).

Finding a Way Through the Maze of Internet Marketing

    Sunday, April 1st, 2007

Too many people these days claim to have the best ” must have” information to market your products, or services, on the Internet, only wasting your time, money and effort, leaving you hollow and empty, ready to give up on the Internet, pack your bags and leave town.

So you ask, how do you REALLY know who’s telling the truth about what’s good, and what’s not, and who is just leading you down the garden path, taking YOUR money all the way to THEIR bank.

With today’s Internet moving so fast, “newbies”, and even experts are finding it harder and harder to find the info they need to help them get to where they want to be….. on a beach, knocking back chichi’s, watching all the sights, while listening to the sweet sound of, “you’ve got mail” resounding from their computer, informing them that they just made another sale.

It almost seems impossible today, and the “norm” seems to be that you spend hours and hours getting “lost” on the net, overwhelmed by the amount of info, confused by empty promises, and conned by the best of them. It seems like the Internet is just a huge money pit…. especially if you don’t know what you are doing.

If you don’t know what the “experts” know, or, even worse yet, how to find the “good ones”, you are DOOMED to Internet Hell!!! After all, who do you know that has 50,000 close friends that are going to immediately buy your products or service, just because you have a web page!

So what is a person to do?? Where do you go to find the “guru” you are looking for, that will help you through the maze, making sense of it all, without leaving you high and dry, and giving you just enough to line their pockets, and not get themselves sued.

News media can make it sound like a fairy tale, easy as “hot apple pie” to achieve. They feature some celebrity who has a “line of something”, that they are selling “millions of” on their “new” web site, and making millions of dollars within a few short months…..and they didn’t lift a finger!

Well for starters, you can see that if you don’t have the kind of cash it takes to hire a team of Internet experts to set up, run, and advertise your web site for you, which most people do not, it is not so easy.

Nor can you just lay back and think that just because you have a web page, that people are going to rush to “buy” what you have, just because you worked your tail off advertising for weeks and weeks on end, spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars.

It just doesn’t work like that!!!

    Or does it…

So, you ask, does the “newbie” throw in the towel, hop in the car, leave town, and leave the business behind to the “experts” that know what they are doing!

    Of course not!!!

If you do it the right way, with the right people, it can work for you, and work well.

There are ways to get the help you need, and not be scammed.

There are hundreds of people out there that are very successful on the net, and are more than willing to share their expertise with you so you can also succeed, because, in part, YOUR success is their success. For example a good resource can be found at: http://www.MarketingManuscript.com/g.o/bambazonkie

There are two ++’s with this, they get the joy of helping you, and you get……the chichi’s on the beach!

So relax, enjoy, and have fun being successful on the Internet.

You CAN do it, and it will be YOUR turn to “laugh all the way to the bank”.

Lorae would be amiss to pass up any chance to learn from the great information that Mark Joyner has to offer such as located in his marketing manuscript at: http://www.MarketingManuscript.com/g.o/bambazonkie

Lorae has more great and exciting info along with a free e-book just waiting for you to pick up at: http://get-me.to/bambazonkie

    Advertising Your Internet Business

    Sunday, April 1st, 2007

Every Internet Business will need traffic in order to survive. If people do not know the existence of your website, you cannot expect to sell any product/service to people. Therefore, you need to advertise your website so as to bring in more traffic from many different channels.

There are a few ways to advertise your Internet Business. I will talk about paid advertising first. On the Internet, you will remember seeing ads that are displayed on some websites. Those are banners ads. So actually you can pay a company who offers advertising services and buy ads. In turn, the ads will advertise your product/service that you are offering. Once people click on the ads, they will be brought to your website. Or you can buy keywords to list ads, where each ad will cost from a few cents to a few dollars, e.g. is Google Adwords. Usually buying of keywords to list ads will bring targeted traffic to your site. For example, if someone searches a term “Golf” and you have bought the keyword ads from Google, your keyword ad may stand a chance to appear on the search results listing. For more information, check out http://www.google.com/ads/

You can also advertise using traditional advertising channels such as placing your URL (e.g. www.abc.com) on flyers, brochures, business cards, books, TV ads, etc.

Now I will touch on free advertising. Using free advertising channels may take more time to see results but they can definitely help you save a good tons of money if you do it correctly. Some of the channels are as followed:
    a. Classified site, where you can post free classified ads on the website to promote your Internet Business.
    b. Forums, post actively on forums that are related to your products/services that you are offering, and place your website URL in your signature.
    c. Cross linking between sites, negotiate a deal with other related sites and see whether you can place your website URL on their site.
    d. Submit articles to article submission sites and place your URL on the articles that you write.
    e. Give away freebies such as e-books, and include your website URL in the freebies.
    f. Word of Mouth, by physically promoting your Internet Business between people. This will automatically happen if people think that your Internet Business provides values for them.

I have shared with you some of the advertising channels that you can use. Try them out yourself and see which channels suit best for your Internet Business.
